Friends

I'm going to get a little personal here...I currently have no friends.

Even now, right now, in my life I could say I have one friend that I could call if need be.

I really have no idea how to make friends...

I pretty much grew up here in Vernon, so you would think that I would still have some friends from school...nope. Sometimes I wonder why this is, but I'm pretty sure I know why. I'm picky, not to be confused with judgmental, I take my friendships very seriously. I expect a friend to want to be around or with me not just because they want a ride or something along those lines.
I will be the friend I expect to have in return.

In college I made about 3 friends, one of which I really enjoyed, but she was older then me, had kids and our lives just didn't really coexist outside of school.

Amanda (my current friend, shout out!) I met at my old job. I believe we're still friends because she also takes her friendships seriously. But alas she lives about an hour away and was in a serious car accident last November so we don't get to see each other as much as we would like.

It's not that people don't like me, although I'm sure some don't. I get along with almost everyone at my current job and I try to be a positive, friendly person to strangers. So what am I doing wrong?

Anyway, tomorrow will bring happier thoughts.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday, I made peanut butter cookie sandwiches, it was a good day.

  1. Making friends as an adult is so much more difficult than when you are younger. It seems that there is an age where you start categorizing your friends "work" "college" "high school" and it's harder to make real life relationships happen because the friends from work already have other friends from their college or highschool days that they hang out withoutside of work. Anyways, it might not make much sense, I'm just saying that I hear you. And you can make friends as adult, it just takes a little more time & effort.

    1. Thanks for your comment, I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this but I figured my blog is a place I can speak what's on my mind.
You'd almost think that as adults making friends would be easier? I guess not...

    2. I agree that your blog is most definitely a place to speak your mind, so long as it's not at the expense of others.
