Geezers. I'm not really sure where all the time has gone. I can't believe I haven't posted anything in over two weeks! What has happened!
Well let's catch up with what's been going on in my life.
As you know I moved to Courtenay BC on April 28 and started my new job April 30.
This has been a major learning experience.
Let's talk about the move, I took it harder then I thought it would. Having to say goodbye to Duncan was extremely sad, even though I did go back and visit for May Long weekend, it almost made it double difficult since I don't know when I will see him next.
As of now I am all settled in to my new room and am learning everyday about this awesome city I now call home. I absolutely love the Vancouver Island and the Comox Valley is absolutely beautiful, with awesome people and new things to explore.
My new job made me nervous. I have never been a "labourer" before and the thought of physical work kinda made my stomach turn. I've been lazy and out of shape for so long, what if I wasn't good enough? Well let's just say the people I work with are absolutely amazing! It's all about learning, taking your time, doing it correctly instead of doing it fast. Plus can you believe it but I actual love doing it! Yes, there are days that are boring! but I am building massive amount of muscle and at the end of the day I feel like I accomplished something.
Another issue that I've been working through is being lonely. You can only hang out with your parents so much before needing some "different" socialization. I love my parents and living with them is awesome but everybody needs some friends. Now this is where I kinda suck, I am crap at making friends. Into the second week I finally got the balls to go up to this guy and ask "will you be my friend?" (I did actually say that) and thankfully he totally wanted to be! Since then the friendship wheel has been in motion, although slow at times and I still miss Duncan like crazy! I'm feeling better about it all.
And the most recent news: I'm thinking of joining the local Roller Derby team! There was one back in Vernon that I thought about but never had the balls to do anything, but this time I did.
Have you ever played Roller Derby, or have an experience with it? I'd love to hear everything about it!
Wow big update. I hope the world is treating all you lovelies well and I promise (this time I mean it) I am jumping back in to blogging and am setting up some posts for the week ahead.
I've always wanted to try roller derby! You should totally go for it - seems to me like a great way to blow of some steam and meet some cool people at the same time. I'll be over here being jealous :)
ReplyDeleteHa thanks! Yeah Roller Derby has always intrigued me so hopefully it all works out. Although I haven't skated in years and have absolutely no gear but those are just tiny issues :)
